I Know and I Don’t–No. 17

Surprise, surprise!  I actually remembered this time!  To be quite truthful, I am writing this right post about 1 minute after my shrimp and grits masterpiece because I don’t have another minute to spare.  I’m leaving work tomorrow to go see Keith for the weekend, and I like to take time off when I’m getting to see him.

I know
I should be so thankful I have a job (and I really am).
I don’t know why it’s so hard to get up for work in the morning.

I know
kids do strange things for attention.
I don’t know who taught them that it’s funny to slide Legos across the floor so they make that awful squeaking sound.

I know
it’s bug season outside.
I don’t know if I’ll ever be okay with those gross little things getting close to me!

I know
it’s practically shameful that my toes haven’t been painted in a week.
I don’t know why they don’t look as fabulous as I want them to.

I know
I’ll never have movie star hair.
I don’t know what to do with my hair.

I know
I have to wait a month to see my Praxis scores.
I don’t know how I’ll wait that long.

I know
I have four sponsor spots left for July.
I don’t know who’s going to fill them, but I can’t wait!

I know
I’m going dress shopping next weekend!
I don’t know what I’m looking for!

Well ladies, I think the time may have come for me to make the jump into hosting a linky party.  I’ve been wanting to let you ladies link up with me for this for awhile…what are your thoughts?

     Have a great weekend!

I Know and I Don’t–No. 16

Bleh…I forgot again last week.  Clearly I need to quit setting myself up for failure and just post when I remember.  It’s been a whirlwind few weeks.

I  know
I’m going to be  teacher.
I don’t know
why summer programs are so vastly different from the school year.

I know
I shouldn’t take Ibuprofen every day.
I don’t know why I’ve had a headache on the top of my head every day this week.

I know
I shouldn’t wish away my summer.
I don’t know see how summer is passing me by so quickly!

I know
prayer works.
I don’t know why it doesn’t always work the way I expect (…lie.  I know why, and I really would rather it be God’s answers than my lame ideas).

I know
I should quit saying I want to do something or that I’m planning something, blah blah blah.
I don’t know why I don’t just go do all of these things.

I know
I’m getting married in 380 days!
I don’t know when that’s really going to hit me.

I know
it’s summer.
I don’t know why my face is so dry!

I know
my life is going to work out.
I don’t know why I can’t have everything planned now…

I know
red is my signature polish color for my toes.
I don’t know why it is looking dingier so fast these days!

I know
I really should decide what I want my wedding flowers to look like.
I don’t know how to pick something that will provide lots of options for mothers and grandmothers and attendants to coordinate!

That’s that for now.  How are we almost a week into June?!  I am seriously astonished with how fast this year is going.  If this is any indication of how the next twelve months are going to go, then we are in for a wild ride.  I’m all kinds of excited to student teach and graduate and plan a wedding and get married and find a place to live and get a job, but that is a lot to do in a year – wow.
The past year has been a huge learning experience for me.  Every situation I have found myself in has been a gigantic, blinking lesson from God saying, “Let go.  Rely on me.  I mean it…let go.  You can’t do this.  I can.”  I have to remember this every single day…it’s not always easy, but I’m really working on it.

This is where my brain is now...not so much the boats, but definitely the beach.

I Know and I Don’t–No. 15

My first week of work has gone just swimmingly!  I didn’t have all my kids (because schools are just starting to let out), but I was able to get into a great routine, and my kids have responded really well.  Working for genuinely nice people makes for such a pleasant workplace.  Want to know the best part?  I’m off every Wednesday!  That’s like having two two day weeks…I love it!
     Now, onto to I Know and I Don’t – No. 15!

I know I was nervous to start a new job.
I don’t know why; it’s been great.

I know it’s summertime.
I don’t know why pool water is still so cold!

I know I shouldn’t taste food when it’s hot hot hot.
I don’t know why I still do (burnt tongue…ow).

I know it’s not healthy to eat ice cream everyday.
I don’t know why…

I know it’s not practical to get my nails done every week.
I don’t know why I really want to.

I know I should put a little more effort into my hair.
I don’t know why I’m incapable of fixing it cute!

I know there are more important things than television.
I don’t know what I’ll do until Army Wives comes back!

I know transitions are hard.
I don’t know why I don’t just get over it…they generally lead to something better.

I know my last few I Know and I Don'ts have mentioned my hair, my wedding, and my TV.
I don't know why I don't have anything else going on in my life.  (Note to self: work on it)

I know I have one sponsor spot left!
I don’t know who’s going to snap it up…but I’m excited to  meet you!

Fifteen weeks (seventeen counting those two I missed) has gone by really fast.  I’m so excited about where my blog is going…I love my new sponsors and I can’t wait to introduce them to you next month.  On that note, can you believe June is one week away?  It’s my one-year-pre-anniversary month!

I Know and I Don’t–No. 14

I don’t have a cute little intro this week, so I’ll jump right into it!

I know there must be something I can do to my hair.
I don’t know how to do any of those somethings.

I know television is not real life.
I don’t know why I’m so attached to all my TV characters.

I know snacking all day long is not so healthy.
I don’t know why I’m always hungry – by that I of course mean “always want a snack.”

I know once I’ve seen every episode of a show I should probably take a break from it.
I don’t know how Friends manages to suck me back in every single time!

I know it is is still too early to start planning.
I don’t know how I’ve waited this long…or how I’ll still wait.

I know dreams don’t mean anything.
I don’t know why mine always feel so so so real.

I know vacation is still a while away.
I don’t know how I will wait!

I know this was kind of brief, but this is pretty much all that’s running around in my head right now…pitiful.  I’ll be back in a few days with my delish recipe and possibly some pictures – my sister, brother-in-law, and niece are visiting!

I Know and I Don’t–No. 13

Oh my goodness.  I cannot believe that I have now forgotten to do this for two weeks in a row.  I was looking back over a few old posts when I realized this…it never even occurred to me (and I don’t know why – I really like these posts).  Had I not been so lax, this would now be I Know and I Don’t – No. 15!  Now that school is over, I can get back to actually paying attention to what I’m doing.   Now let’s get to it:

I know this is not a famous post or idea.
I don’t know how I forgot about it for two weeks…sad day.

I know summer doesn’t actually start until the end of June.
I don’t know why they don’t just say it starts May 1 (it sure feels like it)!

I know I still have to student teach.
I don’t know why I’m not even stressed about it…at all.

I know I’m not nearly fancy enough to do all the things I see in Southern Living.
I don’t know why not…

I know I don’t have a house (of my own).
I don’t know why I’m obsessed with my imaginary house.

I know August 11 is a ways away.
I don’t know how I’ll wait to go to the beach.

I know blogging is a lot of work.
I don’t know when I’ll figure out how to balance scheduling and spontaneity (…this goes for real life too).

I know I’m not actually a beauty queen or a newscaster.
I don’t know why I can’t have hair like one (i.e. big).

There we go…I feel much more on track now that I’ve actually remembered this.  I’ll do better about keeping up with it this summer.  Also, I just made a list of post ideas, and I’m even more inspired than I thought (or I just have entirely too much to say).  Also (last time I start a sentence this way – in this post – promise), I’m sure a few of you have noticed the background changing every few days or so in the last week-ish.  I am so sorry about that!  I’m not quite ready to make the jump to a professionally designed blog, so I’m just sort of winging it.  I hope it’s not too distracting and that the final (I hope) product isn’t too tacky for words!

I Know and I Don’t–No. 12

Just a few little tidbits before I leap right into the twelfth I Know and I Don’t (…which is three months…wow) – first, time is just drip-dropping by so quickly right now.  I only have a week and a couple of days left of school!  Also, I am definitely ordering my purse today, and I couldn’t be more excited!  Aaaand, if you’re in the Memphis area and are looking to have pictures made, let me recommend Oh Snappy Day Photography.  Jamie just recently took some pictures of my niece, and I am in love with them!  Keith and I are seriously considering having her do some engagement pictures for us – her photos are incredible, and her rates are so great.

I know my hair is not awful (like I used to think it was).
I don’t know how I’m going to wear it for Keith’s fraternity social.

I know it’s silly to keep my nails done if I’m working in day care.
I don’t know why I really want to!

I know I can finally start thinking about real wedding planning this summer.
I don’t know why it can’t come sooner!

I know Keith is going to be such a great nurse.
I don’t know why there are soooooo many hoops to jump through.

I know dreams are just nonsense reconstructions of the thoughts bopping around in my head.
I don’t know where some of those thoughts came from (green lasers, having to boat to a restaurant, cops…wow).

I know I’ve seen everrrrry  episode of all the sitcoms I watch during the day.
I don’t know how they’re still funny – but they are!

I know I’m going to turn this into a linky…
I don’t know when…maybe for the 20th.

Happy Weekend!  I have a feeling the next week is going to go by in turbo speed.  I’ll be turning in all of my assignments, finishing half of my exams, aaaaaaand turning 21 (next Thursday)!

I Know and I Don’t–No. 11

I am so sorry that I have been MIA for the past few days!  The end of the week always seems to fly by for me…in spite of not having classes (not that I’m complaining).  Yesterday Keith and I went to Memphis to babysit my niece while my sister and brother-in-law went to a church date night; I love spending time with Della, so this I Know and I Don’t will definitely have some pictures!

I know it’s a little silly to spend $3.25 on one cupcake.
I don’t know why I don’t do it more often.

I know eating in the floor (with a two-year-old) can be messy.
I don’t know why that should matter.

DSCF2651

I know Keith has to study…
I don’t know why it has to be so dull.

All you nursing majors have my deepest sympathies/admiration.

I know Della can smile.
I don’t know why it’s so hard to capture.

I know this cupcakes started out pretty.
I don’t know how it ended up like this.

I hope all of you have had a wonderful week!  If I’m commenting on old posts (and new), I apologize.  I feel so behind when I miss a few days of “talking” to all of you.
