Dear Grant–1 Month

Grant Wilson! One month?! Never in my life did I think I would have two baby boys, and here I am one month in and loving every minute. This has been the shortest and longest and sweetest month of our lives, and we love you to absolute pieces.

You and Davis have both been dreamy newborns, but you are far less intense than your big brother. You’re snugglier and squishier…but you can get going too.  Your little stomach rumbles for a four ounce bottle exactly every three hours, and you gobble it all up so quickly. You make the best newborn sounds – grunting and puffing, and I love every second of it.

You have been a great sleeper (at night). We are usually getting a 4-5 hour stretch after 8:00 and another 3 hour stretch after that.  You do so well with your swaddle blanket at night, and just rest wherever during the day. Some days we get a big bed nap, and other days it’s everywhere else. You don’t stay awake very long at all, and when you do, you don’t quite know what to do with yourself.  I am loving having a baby sidekick again, and we have had some sweet time together on big brother’s school days.

Being held to sleep

This quilt is your BFF.

Length: 20.5 in. at your two week appointment (50th percentile)
Weight: 8 lb. 8 oz. at your two week appointment (50th percentile), definitely bigger now
Head: 37 cm. (75th percentile)
Eating: 4 oz. every 3 hours
Sleeping: So GREAT!

We are so thankful for you! You have been the best addition to our family. Davis has been an even better big brother than I could have ever imagined. I feel all the feelings thinking about your relationship as you get older. You brothers are going to be the biggest and best job of our lives! We can’t wait!
